The Department is a Community College Police Department organized pursuant to California Education Code section 72330. Department police officers are peace officers under the authority of 830.32 of the California Penal Code. Headed by a chief of police, the Department reports to the Assistant Chancellor of Facilities Management.

The Department is decentralized with personnel assigned to each campus. Some of our operations are centralized for efficiency. These are located at the District Service Center in the heart of Mission Valley.
