Officer Promoted to Sergeant

Kevin Olson is the newest addition to the Sergeant's ranks. He has worked for the SDCCD Police Department for approximately 15 years before being promoted to Sergeant. In that time he has become a certificated instructor in 8 police related topics, specializing in police training, tactics, investigations, and community oriented policing. 

Sgt. Olson has also received numerous local and state commendations. Most notable are an Award of Merit from the California College and University Police Chiefs Association and  SDCCD Officer of the Year in 2004. 

On a personal level, Sgt. Kevin Olson has lived throughout California for 40 years. He has been married for 20 years and is the father of a very active seven year old. Sgt. Olson enjoys backpacking, biking, and cooking, winning "Best Chili and Cornbread of the Year"  at the 2005 Police/Facilities Chili Cook-off.
