Battery Jumps/Lock out service:

College Police offers free battery jump and lockout service to students, faculty and staff. Just call SDCCD PD Dispatch at (619) 388-6405 to ask for assistance. The dispatcher will ask you for your location, a description of your vehicle and a description of you. They will ask you to stand by your vehicle and wait for the officer to arrive.

If you need a battery jump they will ask you to open the hood of your car, it makes it easier for the officer to find you.

When the officer opens your vehicle in the case of a lockout, be prepared to provide the officer with your driver's license and registration for your vehicle .

**This is a free service that we offer when officers are available to provide it. Please understand that there are times that officers maybe on other calls and may not be available to provide the service.

First Aid:

College Police Officers are trained in first aid for first responders, CPR and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.).

However, if you have a life threatening medical emergency call 9-911 on district phones (or 911 on pay phones or cell phone) first, then call SDCCD PD Dispatch at (619) 388-6405 and advise them of the emergency. Dispatch will send an officer to your location to assist and assess the emergency. You can also reach SDCCD PD Dispatch by pressing the red "College Police" button on any district phone then push "1" to be put through to a dispatcher immediately.

Lost and Found:

A person who finds lost property is not required to take charge of it. If a person does take charge of lost property, a reasonable effort should be made to identify the owner and return the property. If the owner cannot be found, the property should be turned over to College Police. Business offices at Continuing Education Centers will also accept lost property.

Lost property is held for 90 days (except for textbooks, which are given to the bookstore during the last week of the session). If the property (excluding money, which is credited to the District general fund) is not claimed by the owner, the property may be claimed by a finder who is not a District employee (District Policy 7760.).

Child Safety Seat Program

This unique program is designed to reduce the number of outdated, obsolete, and unsafe child safety seats in our community. Our department has 3 officers who are certified child passenger safety technicians. These certified officers inspect your child safety seat for any factory recalls, physical defects, and improper seat installation. If your child safety seat is declared unsafe by one of our certified inspectors, a new and safe child safety seat will be provided free of charge. To find out more about this program contact Sgt. Roy Moton at Mesa College, (619) 388-2749.
